Subject: Removing inputs

I'm working on a material and am using compound nodes. Some of the shaders are similar so I copied and pasted them and then removed the unwanted nodes. Some of the unwanted nodes were connected to the external inputs of the compound node. Now they show as inputs even though there's nothing there. Does anyone know how to get them out of the inputs node?

For example, in these images, the blender and top diffuse shouldn't be there.

Select/cut the desired nodes. Exit the compound. Paste the selected nodes into the main material workspace. Delete the empty compound node. Select the desired nodes and collapse them to a (new) compound node.

P.S. your reflect and Blinn nodes are nonfunctional (see the dashed "wires"?)

Thank. I was hoping there was a way without having to redo all the compound nodes.

I know the wires show that it won't work, but it does. I think those only indicators for Superfly, but I'm working with Firefly at the moment.

BTW, if I recall correctly, Poser's inputs and Outputs are actually reversed from whatever Blender material you're using. Drove me nuts. Another reason I haven't touched Poser in a while.

My skins setups are using one compound node connected to PoserSurface (the famous EZSkin3 setup) and one connected to a CyclesSurface node. Within the EZSkin3 compound, the nodes are connected using dashed "wires", but it also work with Superfly.

In fact, I've been told by a 3DS long-time user (before Windows even exists) that no products at the time were using the concept of nodes interconnected using dynamically represented wires, even 3D Studio Max, And Blender didn't existed yet.

And CuriousLab invented this for their Poser product (V5, V6? can't remember...).

If that's true, who is using inverted inputs and outputs?
