I was wondering is there a way to get a female figure's measurements in Poser 11? ex: bust-hip-waist

EldritchCellar ( ) posted Thu, 10 June 2021 at 7:37 PM

That's a new one. I literally don't think I've seen that one before. My first guess would be you'd need a body suit for the figure and then create a measuring tape texture for the body suit. The reason I say a body suit is because of the valleys of curves that would happen with the breasts and glutes would throw off the result. And hopefully there's no texture stretching in the UVs of the body suit.

I'd say the solution could also probably be had in some way via the uv shells themselves, which might actually be better than using a body suit. In any case, a bit more complicated than your measurement wall query.

There is a circumference/circle measure tool built into Poser, never played with it though. You might want to try that.

User manual: Chapter 9 pgs 276-287... measurement tool poly line does exactly what you're looking for.

Pretty cool, wasn't aware that existed.

This freebie will do some of what you are seeking. The vendor/creator also has a paid extension for figure and clothing measurements available at their website. Search "Universal Sizing Apparatus Woman".

The free one, though it's pretty cool, won't return the results like a tailor's measuring tape, just pointing that out. Also, why would anyone pay 13 bucks for the linked add on, as interesting as it is, when Poser's built in polyline tool does exactly the same thing? Just sayin'...

...of course my statement doesn't take into account how consistently helpless people are around here. Like, y'know a Google search or... reading the manual... or modeling a box lol.

Only poser 11 and 12 have the measurement tool. If you're on an older version, it could be of use

That's true RedPhantom. I was only considering OP's statement "figure's measurement in Poser 11"

I suppose I should be more sympathetic, especially since I have a fondness for legacy content and usually, when possible, try to make things backward compatible if I plan on sharing them. Wrong side of the bed and whatnot lol.

It does remain that when OP first made his query, though I had never needed such a thing, it was literally a matter of minutes to find a solution with a simple search. Happy accident that I learned something new about a tools functionality in doing so. I would have pointed OP to the paid tool advertised above by emjay but a search did not reveal the existence of such a paid add on. There's no results for that thing.

Back to morphs...

Do you mean hips, bust, and waist? Use the polyline measurement tool that comes with poser.

Here's a rough sample with Vicky. I didn't do a great job of keeping the lines straight. Each portion was done with a different measuring tool. But she's roughly, 37, 28, 35 inches. The tool uses the same units you have poser set to. I have mine in inches. You can change that under edit>general preferences interface tab
