Subject: Daz3D vs POSER 2021 versions.. which to use or both?

I have been a long time user of both but got Covid and I have been down for a while. The new version of Poser came out and I love DazStudio but the new version of Poser also looks amazing. Are you guys running both versions or primarily one? How much of the Renderosity programs integrate between both?.

I use both. Am fine with either.

Down for awhile meaning 1 year? Doubt either has made an extreme leap to make a difference "for me". Since this is a bit dated thread my input may help others with the same question.

Here's my opinion based off some simple observations and not actually comparing the functionality. Look at the quality of content for each program. Then look at the majority of renders posted by the users of each program. Look at the amount vender support. Look at the cost to produce your content. Then make a choice. Personally, I found it easy to make a decision.

You have to take into consideration the hardware requirements for each one. One of the two programs requires a newer, more powerful computer, preferably with a dedicated graphics card, more HDD space as almost every product installed needs close to 1Gb sometimes, more power (on the electric bill) and more of your time (more dials to fiddle with)

I have been using both for several years (ever since they started giving Daz Studio away for free). They both have their strengths and I find it impossible to pick a "favourite".

Can I read notes?  Hell, there ain't no notes to a banjo. You just play it.

I have affinity for Poser, but the finer characters are all Daz Studio. However, if I really want to knock out a Comic Style story, that is one area where Poser really does one up DS. That comic render is awesome! Super fast and you can see the changes your lighting movements make in real time and really dial in a ultra shadow and harsh lighted Frank Miller style if that is your thing.

I used Poser for quite a few years, but my heart is with Daz Studio. I think both programs are good programs though.
