Hi guys, I'm considering buying a webcam to go with my desktop computer and maybe using it on YouTube for live chats.. It doesn't have to be expensive, but i don't want it to be so crappy it barely works either. Right now, I'm looking for something that might meet the following guidelines... except, I'm no longer on a Mac, so it doesn't have to be Mac compatible. I know where I can get one real cheap, say around $15.00. but I'm, looking for suggestions that might range from $20 - $50.

I have a couple of Logitech webcams on my computers that are decent and work well. I've used them for ZOOM meetings and haven't had a problem yet. IIRC, they were between $20 -30.

are you able to see the output from the camera so you can tell how good/bad it looks? I've never used one myself.

Meaning if you can see yourself on a screen, yes. The camera software will allow you to zoom and navigate the camera left, right, top, and bottom to center your image. You can even make color adjustments if necessary.

I suppose I should have at least suspected, but honestly, I didn't even know Logitech made cameras. Do you know if there is any advantage or disadvanatage to having a 480, 720 or 1080p camera? Which is best to get. ?

The higher the resolution the better although it doesn't necessarily mean better image quality. Most cameras offer at least 720p arranging from 360p on up. I came across this article that may clarify some of your concerns and questions. Click here.

Did you know that any newer Android smartphone can be used as a webcam on a PC?

Here is only one of the many links I found:
