i just spent a week re downloading all my installers. just started the zipping.

i want to organize in such a way i don't have to "remember" where things are.

so far i've put all my hdr in one big folder. carrara shaders can embed the jpgs, dunno yet if it embeds hdr in background presets.

to work n content folders or go back to sleep the rest of the day cant make these decisions without a hot cuppa

I did a reorganization when I bought new hardware about a year ago or so. I created runtimes and content folders by store. For the Daz store, I further broke it down by base figure. So, I have runtimes for Renderosity, ContentParadise, RuntimeDNA (labeled RDNA because having Runtime in the name can cause problems), etc.. For Daz, I had the big default Runtime, and then separate runtimes for V4/M4 generation clothing/MATs/poses and V3/M3 generation clothing/MATs/poses. I have yet a Runtime and a Content directory for my stuff I make myself. Not ideal for finding something if I forget where I acquired it, but very good to give credit and to find compatibles.

i saved zip backups folders by store. often the file name doesn't say what figure its for, i prefixed the files with v4, g#. the prettiest stuff i saved a promo pic so i can find it again. at 1 point i d/l m4 uvs for g2. deciding which m4 mats are worth saving for g2 .

carrara features i really enjoying: being able to have 2 files open. can work on 1 thing separately to prep it for my open scene.

being able to save a gn character as a standalone figure, stripping out all the unused morphs.

embedding textures in the file, so i never have to worry about finding them again.
embedding the geometry.

i dunno how to organze mimic files?

i forgot to consolidate the shaders before i saved to carrara. do you think is worth it to go back and re do it? dunno how much resources it saves.

is there a utility can batch import all my poser pz2 poses to carrara content?

my scene inventory is beginning. sigh. long marathon nights of carrara-ing

do you do anything to organize clothes contetnt? like put all the shoes together?

thanks. anything to help speed up the workflow. to speed up saving makeup shaders, i made a geoshell of her face and lips. also kinda kewl to see a disembodied face.

don't work in Carrara AFAIK but do in the plugin Daz Studio.

started a separate folder for /cryo tubes. didnt realize how many i have. subconscious fetish?

folder for /carriages, which i guess could go under vehicles.
