Subject: Poser 11 and Genesis 2 morphs

Hi,

If someone can point me to an article or something that can help. Basically, since I purchased poser 11 pro sometime ago, I never got around to using it, as i was happy with poser 2014 until basically is became unusable with the adobe problem. So, loving Poser 11, so I though I'd have a go with Genesis 2 and it loaded with a breeze with the importer... I was blown away. Anyway, small problem, it loads the maps, model but no body morphs or head morphs. So basically half the job, can anyone help?

Kind regards, Lee

First, there is a solution for the Poser 2014 Flash issue and you can find it here in the forum, just conduct a search. Second, it seems as if you just imported a generic Genesis 2. If you have morphs already loaded into Genesis 2 in DS, that should carry over when the DSON importer is used. I don't recall seeing a tutorial regarding morph conversions to Poser; it doesn't mean they don't exist, I haven't come across them.

@hborre thanks coming back to me. I tried the workaround for 2014, however it kept disappearing off screen so it became really annoying. I have to say as I do comics the queue manager is so quick now on my little render farm using Poser 11. Less than 10 seconds between loading.

However, I loaded daz3d to see if it helped and nothing... downloaded Genesis 2 and 3 as well. Reloaded the character and still the morphs to the face or body don't apply. The standard dial morphs work on the model like bulk, fitness, round face etc... however the ones loaded with the model don't. Any suggestions anyone?

Regards. Lee

Just for clarification, are you using DSON for importing Genesis/Genesis 2?

battlestrength ( ) posted Tue, 13 April 2021 at 3:24 AM

Yes, that is correct. Do I need to update it as I have an older version?

If you use DIM to download and install all your DAZ 3D content then it will notify you that your script needs updating. Otherwise, install the latest version and see if that corrects the problem. Also, what morphs do you have installed in DS for your Genesis/Genesis 2?

Hiya. Tried the DIM and a ZIP to load the files, I loaded DAZ and loaded Genesis 2 with morphs... still it flashes on screen for two seconds and nothing changes. Any help? It's almost there with textures and the model, however no morphs at all. Grrrr. Many thanks.

Any help from any poser users out there?

A key unanswered question here is - what if you try a few different Genesis 2's, a Genesis 1, and so on - can you get those to import correctly via DSON with morphs, or is the problem specific to the one figure preset and one set of morphs?

If it is just the one preset figure, and you need it in Poser, you could get it across using the free "Automatic OBJ Exporter" for DAZ Studio. The morphs will carry across. You say you are using Poser for comics, so this way you can at least get the posed and dressed figure into Poser and thus to Comic Book line-art, for later inking by hand.

Also, some advice. If DSON is working for you in your current Poser 11, beware of upgrading to a later Poser 11 - I'm fairly sure 'DSON things' broke in Poser 11.3. In fact that leads to another question - what exact version of Poser 11 are you using. They are not all the same with DSON.
