Subject: Conforming Obj?

La Sassy 05 for Poser is described as "Conforming OBJs for the top and pants," Now, I've been using Poser since P5. An outfit is either conforming- rigged to move and fit the character- or an Obj like a belt or hat. Which is this?

I don't have this item so I'm basing this on the read me which lists cr2 files and are put in the character folder in the library. It appears to be simply a matter of terminology.

Available on Amazon for the Kindle E-Reader Monster of the North and The Shimmering Mage

Sounds the description was written wrong then.

OBJs cannot be conformed to anything, so the description is definitely incorrect. In Poser, if we just load an OBJ, it will be considered a "prop", and will take some extra work to become conforming. On itself, it cannot conform. However, if the vendor claims the outfit is conforming, then we can assume it is what it claims.

I'm thinking you're correct @RedPhantom, as I was looking at DragonFly's "Platform Wedge For La Femme", and it also states Conforming OBJ, and I sat there scratching my head, because shoes are always conforming. At least I've never seen a pair of shoes/boots that were dynamic. I don't think that's possible.

If these are shoes, it is possible that these are some of those that do not pose the toes, so it could be a static geometry? In that case, it could be a prop, though that would be rather unusual.

They wouldn't need to pose the toes with a wedge sandal, but usually there's a "foot pose" for shoes so they follow the pose of the feet when a specific pose is applied to the character. Though I'm not sure that's possible with props. I just can't recall working with shoes or boots that were props.

I think have seen prop shoes somewhere in the line. Some people like modeling, but don't wish to delve into rigging. Prop shoes are parented to each foot, and require posing the feet to fit them. I think they were modeled to fit the shape of the posed foot, and we cannot change the feet pose to use shoes like that.
