Oh, this sounds super cool, so thanks for the instructions. I'm definitely going to have a play with this.
BTW, as far as the skullcap goes, I would assume you could turn it into an OBJ, and use it separately. That's how Biscuits sets up her hair products.

I know there are some people here that use Poser to pose figures and then export them into Blender to render. Today I learned you can include strand hair (hair room stuff) in that.
To render strand hair in Blender, load the hair in Poser. Go into the hair room. Check the show populated for each group of hair. Export it all with the skullcap to an obj. I used the default settings.
Import into Blender making sure the lines are checked. Scale it up as needed. switch to edit and separate the skull cap.
Switch back to object convert the hair to curves. set the curves extrude to .0001m (or smaller) You can use the principled hair node to texture it. I don't know if you need to include the skullcap. I have because when you first bring it into Blender, you can't see the strand lines
This is with the extrude set to .001
and here it is with the extrude at .0001
More adjustments need to be done to get it ready for a render with both the thickness and the shader
