Subject: How to bend joints

I'm looking to make my character bend at the knee, amongst other things, and can't seem to do this simple task. Right now they're laying on the floor and I can't get the knee to bend unless they're at T-pose and I lift the foot up. Are there any tutorials on this as I can't find any for these specifics.

You're IKs (Inverse Kinematics) are probably on. There are several ways you can turn them off.

  1. with the figure selected, use the figure menu, go to Use Inverse Kinematics uncheck the feet.

  2. again with the figure selected, right-click on the figure and go to Use Inverse Kinematics and uncheck the feet

  3. In the hierarchy editor window, scroll down to the end of the figure and find where it says IK Chains. Uncheck the boxes for the feet.

Any of these ways work, it's just what's best for you. I usually use the hierarchy editor because it's always open on my screen. Those who don't have room for it may prefer one of the other ways.
