Subject: Rendering with GPU no longer works after update 12.0.386.

I installed the update 12.0.386 for Windows this morning. After that, rendering using GPU no longer works. This happens for all scenes I created for P12 Superfly. It happens even for the Poser defaultscene. So it is not related to specific content. My system: Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, 16GB Ram.

The message log shows me for the defaultscene:

06:45:08 - Application commands: Set render option

06:45:08 - Analytics: Recording event for Size:1627x821

06:45:08 - Analytics: Starting timer for Render:SuperFly

06:45:10 - SuperFly: Start rendering on device GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER.

06:45:11 - Warning: Error Rendering in SuperFly.

06:45:11 - SuperFly: CUDA error at cuCtxCreate: Illegal address

06:45:11 - SuperFly: Rendering time: 0.52 seconds.

06:45:11 - SuperFly: Rendering memory: 600 MB.

06:45:11 - Analytics: Ending timer for Render:SuperFly

Does anyone have the same problem?

Somewhat perplexed greetings

Stephan

Update: Okay, it's not quite as dramatic as it appeared at the beginning. It is a hairpiece. Lovy for v4 from Swam.

When the hairpiece is to be rendered, the GPU render unit crashes. This was the first thing I worked with after the update. And because of that, I first assumed the whole GPU rendering was no longer working properly. Because all further rendering attempts with other arbitrary scene are not done anymore. Poser has to be restarted.

If I render the Lovy hairpiece with the original material everything is ok. However, if I use a Superfly material, this error happens. Whereas my new material was rendered perfectly before the update. I use the hair material from ghostship2. Other hair is still rendered flawlessly with this material.

Greetings and still at a loss Stephan

That's a pretty specific issue. There must be something odd about how the geometry and the materials are interacting that results in the crash. I would send it to Poser support.
