Subject: Conundrum rendering

So the newest version of Poser 11, which I'm using for now to set up compatible files for both 11 and 12, crashes out on me when importing, saving and just about anything to do with content creation. So it was suggested that I go back to an earlier version, I had one version I had saved. I replaced with the newer version but now I'm seeing why the update was needed. Firefly renders fine every time. Superfly gives me black 2 second renders with nothing showing. WTF! SIGH! Not sure what to do here. Anyone have a STABLE version of Poser 11 they can share with me as I do have a license but apparently both versions I have on board here have their respective issues which sort of puts my ability to update and create content that will function in both Poser 11 and Poser 12.

Thank you! Richard

Richard I am sure you are not asking someone to give you a copy of P11 and that you are using one downloaded from Bondware with your own serial number. Give up some more info if you want help with your problem. Nobody here should be giving you a copy of Poser as it is perfectly fine to download Bondware's version and use it with full features as a demo for, I think; three weeks. There is not enough info in your post to actually describe your problem let alone help you solve it. I hope this is just an ill advised rant as it won't help in your quest to be a Poser vendor if you are unable to troubleshoot your own issues let alone assist your customers if they ask for help with one of your products. Give better info and you will get a better answer.

Poser all of a sudden started to render correctly again so no need. I wasn't asking for someone to give me a copy of Poser if it was illegal. I have a license for both Poser 11 and Poser 12 so I'm on the up and up but older versions of Poser are not easily gotten so I was hoping for a choice to get to a version that actually worked correctly. While I have Poser 12 (I'm on the beta team) I don't want to jump ship and only have my new products made to work in Poser 12, not everyone has upgraded. And with the renders not performing correctly it was a deal breaker with me to get test renders done to see how skin was rendering out. All's well now....

Glad sorted...

I had similar happen due scene size and texture complexity overwhelming the PP_11 garbage collector. Eventually, reduced render cache and shrank render size from wiiiide 'letterbox' to near-default, until GPU render worked again. By trial and error, found size limit was my twin GPU cards. CPU render still worked, but ran much, much slower.

Priced upgrade for my now-ageing GPU cards, found I could build an entire Ryzen7 (16 thread !!) CPU-only network render box for less than a significant upgrade to either GPU card. Downside, Windows' workgroups, which I've yet to convince to 'play nice'...

Added: Ha !! Have just discovered 'network path' file sharing option which, in addition to offering a 'name-input' field, has drop-down list including 'Everyone'... {Facepalm...}

WOW, cool.

Yea my render issues were just test renders for a character I'm working on so it was strange one day it's working fine and the next that started happening. No issues since "knock on wood" ... lol
