Subject: Clothing distorting with character morphs

This is the hooded robe from the Iconic MFD bundle 2 one G8F with the character morph Eryn applied, though it does this with some others too. As you can see it is getting a bit messed up round the hip, has anyone got any idea how to fix this please? I have done the show hidden properties thing to see if something needed zeroing but everything is already zeroed.

It looks like one of the bones in the dress is bored. Maybe look at the rigging/weight maps?

I did that and everything looks like it lines up as it should

Lol I meant borked.. Autocorrection. It is only with this character set? I haven't encountered this myself. Have your tried to change the rigging to adjust to the shape?

There are a few others that do this to some extent or another, Aiko, Karyssa, Mika from memory possibly some others too. How do mean change the rigging to adjust the shape?

Normally if you make a cusorm morph, the rigging is off. There is a feature in Daz that corrects the joints automatically. You can do that with clothes too. Probably doesn't work but wirth a try. It's on the second menu ( I'm not at my computer) and there is an option for figure and rigging. You can find it there.

Sounds interesting, will have a look and see if I can work it out when I can get back into DS (doing backups lol)

lemme know if it worked. I dont think it will but at least you tried. If not we have to find another solution :)

you can also unparent it and autofit it, see if that solves the problem.

Had the same experience. Even with base G8F there's a little ripple there, although not nearly as obvious. I think it's the clothing item. It's an early G8F item, and doesn't auto-follow well. It's okay on G8F and V8 and some other characters, but doesn't even behave well with some other base figures.
It's a PC+ item, so it may not have cost you much, but if it's a recent purchase, I'd request a refund if you don't have characters it works well with.

I ended up dforcing it and that not only fixed the crunching but improved the over all look so and happy. Thanks for all the input everyone and if you want to see what I used it in have a look here: https://www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/gallery/the-druids-pool/2986725/

Online Now!

It may be that there is a Rigidity Group assigned to the lower portion of the outfit - I know some early outfits did that, though I thought most were updated to remove the groups.

The menu item mentioned is called adjust rigging to shape but if that has already been done with the character it shouldn't be an issue. Richard's comment on a rigidity group is a possibility also. I personally manually convert a lot of stuff these days and create a custom morph for characters that have issues.
