I recently bought a version of Poser Debut on Ebay and was told on this forum that I would be able to download an upgrade to Poser 11 using my old Poser Debut license. I now hear that Poser 11 Pro has been consolidated into Poser 12 and that I can enter my serial number and validate it in order to get to the downloads page but when I try to validate it just says that my Poser Debut serial number is not valid. Don't know if it is still possible to upgrade. Please advice.

Yes, that was a good way to do it about three months ago, when the $99 upgrade offer was (which included Debut) and Smith Micro serials were being honoured. But now.... you may well be too late. The best current way to get Poser 11 Pro is the $80 NeoWin Deals offer, but even that may vanish when Poser 12 comes out of early access.

Depends if you want to use Genesis in Poser I'm not sure if what I read on Facebook is true or not but I read poser 12 does not support genesis 3 or 8 and that there was enough for me to say I'm not getting Poser 12 or any future upgrades if that's how they are going to handle things.

Apparently, you have misunderstood the DSON scenario where Poser is concerned. Bondware has approached DAZ3D about the further development of DSON for P12, and their response was they are not interested. Their obligation to Poser is done ATM. Now if DAZ thinks it may be feasible to create a bridge between the 2 apps as they have done with several other apps then there might be a chance to see Genesis 8.1 in P12. But don't hold your breath.

If we had a decent Python API for Poser (and not something as crippled as what we currently have), this bridge would have been around a long time ago. Whether DAZ likes it or not. See Blender. For that, this bridge already exists and is being diligently used and constantly developed. Open source, with support for almost all DAZ features. Including "geo-grafting" and "hires-morphs".

A robust API with the necessary interfaces for a bridge would be a trifle for someone with access to the source and relatively quickly implemented.

I use the Diffeo tool to import Genesis figures to Belnder. But Hires morphs are not working. But they are working at it.

With the other tool the BlenderBridge from DAZ the Eyelashes don't work and also the hair is not possible to import.

But since I know Poser 12 will not support Gensesis anymore I'm focused to Blender also. It's maybe not so easy like in Poser, but blender is so much fatser and you have so many more possibilities. It's realy fun to work with
