When you load a light set from the library in Poser 12 the system adds the lights to the existing lights instead of replacing the lights.

Is there something I've missed?

Use the single tick at the bottom of the library to replace lights

ghostship2 ( ) posted Wed, 02 December 2020 at 11:06 PM

that is not how it used to work...like forever...what is the reason for the change? Now I have to select the light set and then move my mouse to the little check mark and click that. So annoying.

Or just do what we always done. Change it to replace when doubleclick in General Preferences.

I tried the replace feature in GP, how ever that also applies to content. Try adding some clothes and it replaces your figure.

I'll try what Nails60 suggests.

There is a 'Remove All Lights' Python Script under 'Utility'. Once removed just add the new light set. What I really miss is the Script for 'Remove Non Connected Nodes' in the material room!

the script you are talking about is still there, it is called remove detached nodes and you can find it on the wacro panel in the material room.

this script utilises it when tidying your nodes.

If you want to remove non-connected nodes for all material zones, just hold down the Alt button while pressing the Wacro button.

I did as suggested and it works. An added step, but much easier than deleting all the lights individually. Thanks for the help.

@structure Since P12 first came out that panel has been missing in my materials tab/room. How do I get that back up?

I think by default the panel is hidden. Click on the 3 dots on the right of the Material Room window, that will expand the panel.

THANK YOU SO MUCH structure and hborre!!! I never knew the panel was hidden....its just always been there!

It is annoying indeed, especially if you use Poser constantly and render many different scenes: what Cabover said is totally true "I tried the replace feature in GP, how ever that also applies to content. Try adding some clothes and it replaces your figure." Why was it changed if it was working perfectly before? I am still using P11 to set my scenes, as I find easier to test various lights this way.

Has anyone reported it to the development team yet?

I am unable to replicate this issue. How many people are affected by this?

@structure: If you have P11 still installed, go into the Library Light category and double-click any of the light icons. You will see that the action replaces all the lights in the scene. Repeat this in P12, the same action add lights to the scene. This is regardless of the General Preferences setting. Now, either this is recently broken or the techs fixed a problem that was broken for a long time, and everyone had gotten used to this. Could a tech respond to this query and explain what the issue is?

From the Devs We had a similar issue to the OP, you have to go into Edit/General Prefs now then Library tab. Top Left lets you set how double clicks and such work in Poser..It was broken for a while....and never worked right...now it is working as it should.
