Subject: What If Blackhearted...

... took a crack at remodeling La Femme or Le Homme? That idea hit me today when I saw an ad pop up for Anastasia. I wonder how many people are still using her?

randym77 ( ) posted Wed, 02 December 2020 at 12:52 PM

I thought he was the one who made them in the first place.

RPublishing, Blackhearted, Deecey, nerd, and Rhiannon worked on L'femme while RPublishing, Blackhearted, Letterworks, ilona, and Deecey are the ones credited with work on L'homme

I think Blackhearted did most of the modeling.

I seem to recall people asking him to make La Femme look like his GND morphs. He said he included all the morphs to do that, but they're separate. You have to apply them individually.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 1:41 PM

Correct. Blackhearted did the modeling/sculpting on LaFemme and L'Homme from the start.

randym77 ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 1:53 PM

So maybe there would be interest in a LF character that looks like Anastasia. The morphs are all there, I think.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 1:59 PM ยท edited Thu, 03 December 2020 at 2:02 PM

That is basically what Femme Fatale is.

randym77 ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 2:11 PM

I bought that. I use the morphs a lot.

But there's no one-click INJ that will create the whole GND character. More versatile, for sure, but not as convenient for the user.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 2:17 PM ยท edited Thu, 03 December 2020 at 2:18 PM

Easy enough fix. Dial in all the morphs you want to use. After they are all dialed in, choose Figure > Spawn Full Body Morph. Name the character something unique. (Let's say GND-LF).

Then select LF and choose Figure > Zero Figure. That sets all the dials back to zero. Dial your GND-LF body morph to 1, and you should get the same figure that used all the individual dials. Match centers to morph just in case.

It's a lot easier to add the morph to clothing, too, when there is only one dial to add. Just check to transfer the GND-LF morph in the Body actor and you're good to go. 8-)

Then either save the CR2 to the library, or create an injection pose for it.

randym77 ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 3:26 PM

I don't think the average user would find that very easy. Not to mention, just deciding what morphs to use is difficult. I think a lot of users would prefer a one-click out of the box character.

This is an excellent opportunity to create a video tutorial on this very subject. These simple how-tos will give newbies more insight into working with Poser and modifying workflows for easy access. I've been creating personal Superfly material shaders for older models and resaving them as Material Collection, in addition to shader node arrangements that work for me. Heck, I created an Albedo converter node-set to do a quick and dirty map prep for PBR renders. Saves me time from going into Photoshop to manipulate the image.

The main reason that this approach is recommended is, not everyone has the same opinion of what makes the ideal character. LF is provided with many face morphs and some basic body morphs ... then there is my LF Body Kit and Gabe's Femme Fatale morphs. These can all be dialed together in any combination to create YOUR OWN characters. Note, however, that Gabe's Femme Fatale Morphs are NOT a merchant resource so they cannot be baked in if you intend on distributing the characters in any way.

I find it a lot easier to dial in the character I want, make additional changes in ZBrush to soften or refine the combinations, and then spawn a full body morph so that I can recover that character with ONE DIAL, and also make it easier to copy that new morph from La Femme to the clothing. I believe there is already a tutorial in the La Femme user guide PDF that explains how to do this as well.

I have to check now to make sure that PDF is included with La Femme Pro. It was definitely included when the original LF was released.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 5:22 PM

Yes, the La Femme users guide is included with La Femme Pro

randym77 ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 5:23 PM

I get that. I, personally, am glad the morphs are all separate.

But I think a lot of users just want to buy a complete character. I mean, that's probably half the items in the store, if not more.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 03 December 2020 at 5:57 PM ยท edited Thu, 03 December 2020 at 6:04 PM

The only thing I can suggest is to contact Blackhearted and ask if he can update the Femme Fatale product with an injection file that injects the whole character.

I bought Capsces morphs for A3 and H3, M4 and V4, and Cookie and Chip. They each came with an extensive set of individual morphs plus 6 or 7 body presets and as many presets each of Caucasian, African, Asian, and Native American faces. You could use those presets as they were, modify them to taste or start from scratch. They were an excellent value that you don't see much any more and one of the reasons I'll be using those figures for years to come.

Omg, I LOVE Capsces' morph packs. I use them all the time. That would be first on my wish list for LF and LH, or the new Dawn and Dusk.

Karina was trying to get access to Capsces' morph pack for V4 (Morphia, I think it was called) so it could be used with Sasha-16. It's not available any more. Last I'd heard, Capsces hadn't responded to inquiries.

They kinda work with Sasha. IIRC the eyes would not follow extreme head morphs. Never tried the Sasha update though.

Well then the answer is somewhat obvious, Start Lobbying your favorite morph makers to just on the LaFemme/L'Homme market. Unfortunately don't be surprised if they don;t jump, They are in the business of making money, and while people tend to ask for a lot of different items, morphs clothing, in the forum, the sale of proiducts created in response is generally underwhelming. Sorry it's just the way it has always been, merchants make stuff for the figure(s) that bring them the most sales and orphan figures suffer without. (Kind of reminds me of drug companies and orphan illnesses, for exactly the same reason.) And complaining about the perceived faults when people go to the effort to try really doesn't help (not pointed at any one in this thread, just a general observation!)

It's not that bad. It really depends on which market they make morphs for. Tempesta, for example, makes morphs for both DS and Poser, but I believe she does tend to concentrate on Dawn or the Genesis figures.

Richard60 ( ) posted Sun, 06 December 2020 at 11:24 AM

Tempesta3D makes morphs for Pauline and Le Femme. Lots of them in fact. I own most of her morphs for the Poser figures.

Maybe I'm missing the point about LF but surely it's possible to load all the morphs and dial 'em in, then save the figure?

Gabe, generous chap that he is, sent me the figure and a ton of morphs just prior to release. AFAIK, I have the entire set and, also AFAIK, they're pretty damn comprehensive. Me one and only gripe was the enormous, You-Can-Drive-A-Bus-Through-It thigh gap.

Yes, and I never liked the armholes either, though Corvas came up with a set of Simple Details for LF and LH to fix those, as he did years ago with V4 and M4.
