how do i add another line to the animation or am i only loud to use one line to do my animations inside Poser Animation Window? no way to have more then one animation happening at once with a character? like passive animations. such as breathing?

Use the Animation Palette to keyframe any parameter. Also, open up a Graph window for the parameter you're editing and you'll have a visual display of the keyframes and the tweening between them.

There is a way to add more layers to an animation, however I would be careful in using that feature. In the Animation palette window there are three tabs at the top. Keyframes, which shows the Dope Sheet. Layers, where you work with the extra layers. and Animation Sets. And next to that is a Drop down that is labeled Layer: (Down Arrow) BASE. If you click on Layers it opens the options for the Layers function. Please read the manual for all the options. The BIGGEST thing to remember is that currently layers has some bugs which have been reported and are awaiting being fixed.

What you want to do is click the new button and a new layer will be made. It will be in REPLACE mode. I suggest you leave it in that mode to minimize the bugs. It is also best to make the layer the whole length of the animation, until you get use to how it works and know how to fix the bugs. When in Replace anything on the Layers below the layer you are working on will become non-functional. So if you make a figures chest move in and out, then anything on the Base layer with chest in/out will be replaced. And if you go to the Base layer and try to change a part that is affected in the Layer above then the dial will not move. so if you have the arm bend in the new layer, you can't bend the arm in the Base layer. However you CAN twist the arm in the Base layer as that has not been replaced.

You could try doing this. In a new Scene BEFORE you put in any movements make several New Layers. That way the New Layer won't have any of the Base Layer movement applied to it. Since you are just putting in Secondary movements select a Layer and while still in Replace (since that is the only mode where you can make changes) apply your Secondary movement. Once you are fully finished with that Layers movements then you can change the Mode from Replace to Add. When you have all the layers finished Un check the Include in Playback check box. for each Layer. Then you can put in the movements on the Base Layer.

Hey akura_, the layer system isn’t complicated but like Richard said, it’s buggy. You can option/drag frames in a layer to duplicate them, but not copy and paste (try it and Poser will probably crash). Using layers slows down Poser considerably on my computer, so I only use them to accomplish a task then collapse layers when I’m happy with the result. For instance, I might make a character breath in the base layer (keyframe a single breathe then copy and paste every 100 to 200 frames) and then create a separate layer (set to add mode) and add a few spline keyframes to modulate the base layer, making each breath a different intensity.
