Subject: The subscription greed strikes again

Starting with MD 10, only subscription will be available. No more perpetual licence. Too bad, I hate rental i want to own and be free to use my software until i die, or upgrade if i can and want.

For people who want's to stay perpetual it's now or never....

If you already own a perpetual license you can upgrade it to version 12 when that comes out. Starting version 13 then it is subscription for everyone. Now it only applies to brand new people.

I had 9 and just upgraded to 10 and soon they should have 11. However once past 12 I probably won't go any further. on the other hand I may just make everything in my latest version and when I just a big enough backlog just rent it for a month and convert everything and drop it.

Poser 5, 6, 7, 8, Poser Pro 9 (2012), 10 (2014), 11, 12, 13

I had the following from Laya Jo of MD-Support.

... if you're a version 9 of perpetual license holder,
1. Coming this late November, you would be able to upgrade your version to 10.
2. (TBD) Late of 2021, you would be able to upgrade from 10 to 11.
3. (TBD) Late of 2022, you would be able to upgrade from 11 to 12.
After version 12, we won't provide anymore upgrade option, so within 1 year of version 12's release, you would be able to choose either to stay with version 12 or trade your personal perpetual license to 1 year subscription option (If your license is an enterprise license, trade in 2 years subscription)

Consequently, if you want a 'perpetual' license for MD and you do not yet have one eligible for upgrading (MD9, MD8 or MD7), it is now or never.

Is it a monthly fee based or what? Their web site doesn't state per month, looking at this makes it seem like it's 39 for a license whatsthis6.PNG

So if we have a previous version it will still work?

Yes, if you have a 'perpetual' license you purchased once you can use it as long as you have a computer that can run it and they keep up the license server. I stil have running versions of MD2 and MD9. I do have a license for MD6 also but not installed on my system.
