Well, I still need a new laptop with an updated OpenGL, but I just found a link to this video on YouTube, and thought folks might be interested in seeing it. I haven't watched it as yet.

Of course, I have no idea what modeling software she uses, but this would give me an idea of at least where to start.

I have not given enough attention to these types of tutorials and so will keep my eye open for more either building out door environments which I know CG Geek on You Tube has a couple of forest and jungle tutorials on build such environments and there is a pretty good one on Udemy called Blender 2.79 Nature environment creation it is 20 hours long but goes into detail of how to make unique leaves branches it is I think the most complete series I have ever seen

Thanks to mishaps with various free standalone sculpt programs and a discussion with Miss B, I fell off the fence and landed in Blender 2.83 sculpt room. I was happy that I could get some interesting results immediately and while bumbling around blindly; but I found some beartraps as well.
So, the next step is quest for info, and that means Youtube Videos. This Grant Abbitt how-to is a good place to start. Grant Abbitt has a whole sculpt playlist and appears to be some sort of Blender god. Wow!
I would also watch the 2.83 sculpting Update video.
Yes Grant Abbitt does have some very good tutorials on sculpting and CG Boost has a nice Blender 2.8 Beginners Course that includes sculpting and is a free course that includes a good keyboard short cut cheat sheet that is also worth looking into if you are interested

I've been working with B2.8x sculpt features and thought it might be a good idea to look at retopo techniques. I found some tutorial videos from Flipped Normals that might be of interest. These guys show how do retopo without an addon. It goes pretty well once you learn the techniques.
They have a for beginners retopo video, a face retopo demo, and a full-character workflow video.
Also, they have one for the Polybuild Retopo Tool that was added in B2.81.
It's good stuff!

I should mention, anyone who watches the full character workflow video will see (as I did) that it's done in Z-brush and Substance Painter. That's not exactly what we want, but I'm thinking more about the process than the programs for that. There are demos for Blender-based workflows in Grant Abbitt's library. He has a 3-part B2.79 demo for making a low-poly game character.
I found a hard-surface modeling tutorial from CG Cookie. It's from June 2018 and takes place in B2.79b, but the discussion of modeling techniques transcends version. It's the video translation of a livestream. It's long, too. But it's a good discussion with an overview of different hard-surface modeling technologies and examples of problem-solving for subdiv techniques. The bevel tool is very important there!
There are 2 more parts demonstrating how to model a vehicle. Part 2 is exterior, part 3 is interior. I have not watched them yet, but I expect they will be illuminating.
If the videos seem too long, I recommend turning on the CC and cranking up playback speed as much as comfortable. For this, I was ok 2x. If you can't follow the action, then turn it down. But people speak very slowly in tutorials!
Thanks for the link Torq, as I happen to like CG Cookies tutorials. I'm also more comfortable with hard surface modeling, though I've never attempted modeling a car before.

Yes, I'm not sure how much interior work folks do on vehicular products, so should be interesting to see. It's one thing to do an interior of a house, or at least one or two rooms, but cars are so much smaller, you have to wonder how much they can actually put inside.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they model the interior first, and then build the exterior around it.

Interiors are important, and they are sometimes a weak point in vehicle models. Miss B, I think you're spot on about desigining the interior first, especially for spacecraft.
I sat through all 3 hard surface/car design videos and I have some thoughts about what I saw. The presenter makes the argument that nurbs are obsolete. Maybe in games and consumer 3D that is true, but I find that highly unlikely for industrial design. There is a fairly technical discussion to be had about that, but TL;DR: I think the CG Cookie guy is mistaken about that. With that being said, I liked Video 1 the best of the three. If you don't already know it, learn the Diamond. Seems very useful!
Video 2 is a sensible presentation of edge modeling using a blueprint. You can get much the same content from this Cryptonix video. Yes, I watched this one, too. This technique seems like a poor man's version of nurbs modeling, but it works. The technique is laborious. There is little discussion of modeling tires and wheels in any of these videos.
Video 3 is the one I was most interested to see and seemed the least immediately helpful. It's a demo of edge modeling without a blueprint. The idea of making a little guy out of ik bones was interesting. I may give that a go. But that video did not really deliver as much illumination as I hoped.

Hello again! Here's another channel to check out. If you're interested in low-poly modeling, Imphenzia has quite a lot to say about it. He has many videos revolving around 10-minute modeling challenges. But he also has a much longer video, Learn Low Poly Modeling in Blender 2.83. It's loaded with tips and tricks as well as how-to. I recommend checking it out!
Some of these videos are very long! I like to watch them fast as possible and sometimes rewatch the highlights. I suggest increasing the playback speed and turning on subtitles. If you have 2 monitors, you can open Blender in one and play the video in the other. Then you can work along with the video, pressing the pause button as needed to do more in Blender before moving on.

Cheers Lobo! Let's talk about Josh Gambrell's new free Booleans tutorial set on Gumroad. I'm on his mailing list. This one looks very cool and it's not completely dependent on HardOps or other pay-extra plugins. It centers on built-in BoolTool and techniques for using that. I can't vouch for the whole thing because I just downloaded it - over 600mb for 21 movies - but I'm already learning new tricks.
This may be old news and everyone knows it but me, but I think we should be able to use Blender to emulate a lot of the modeling functionality from 3D-Coat. That is, we should be able to use high-poly subdivided primitives with booleans to generate complex surfaces on the fly and then do retopo at the end to get a nice clean mesh for mapping, animation, etc. It would be sort of a hybrid of sculpting and poly modeling. What do you think?
I just got that today the Boolean tutorials and have not had a chance to view the videos yet but I do own several of their other tutorials and they are well worth the investment. I think one of the issues with Boolean work flow is the bring the models into other applications that do not handle Boolean so well like both Poser and Daz and retopology has to be part of that work flow if your planning on using with any other software package now been hearing allot how the retopo work flow in 3D Coat is coming a long way I have not had a chance to experiment with it but would be very interested in seeing any info that includes Blender in the mix. 3D Coat's Blender App Link seems to be very stable and have heard some positive things about it and that it might actually be a bit more stable than the ZBrush add-on for Blender so might be worth looking into using the 3D Coat app link to make creating with in Blender then retopo in 3D Coat might have to play with that in my head a bit

3D Coat does indeed have some wonderful retopo tools! But I've been learning a lot about retopo in Blender, and it really does let us do a good job! It might make sense to use an algorithmic retopo tool like Instant Meshes 3D Coat makes my machine run hard even when there is nothing on the screen. It's kind of weird that way. Very interesting, cool program. Creating in Blender and doing retopo and textures in 3D Coat is an expected workflow for 3D Coat. But Blender keeps getting better.
I will have to look at Instant Meshes at the moment most of the things I consider making are not to complicated that requires allot of retopo work but have been looking at more hard surface and scifi builds like bots and drones but still in the learning status on those things. I have this growing library of modeling tutorials but I need to kick myself out of learning and just tackle something on my own with the knowledge I have accumulated if that makes sense confidence seems to be my worse enemy I can explain things for other to understand but do not have the confidence to take my next step.

Well this is part tutorial and I have made some adaptations and modifications to make it work in Poser which the tutorial on its own merit would not import properly into Poser due to some of the booleans that the tutorial uses so I have had to rework the model to eliminate the Blender Booleans granted means few more polys hear and there so at least in that regard I think I am modifying the modeling style to sort of make it my own. So I am trying just is a process of doing different things to eventually make it work for what I would like to achieve in the long run

Here's an outgrowth of my search for texture and paint plugins. I found these tutorials about procedural texturing. One is a webpage and the other is this video. The video is a lot to absorb in very little time!
Thanks for the share Torquinox have you looked at any of the tutorials on YouTube by Grant Abbitt he has some pretty good texture painting tutorials and they are usually 10 to 25 minutes long but covers the subject at a reasonable pace
