THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: import/export from DAZ|STUDIO 4.8 to Bryce 7.1?

I've read tutorials about earlier versions of both programs ... but the configuration is different and all I seem to accomplish is each program launching the other and no apparent process to transfer the file or object. I am just getting more confused.

I think I'm confused.  Each program launching the other?

I agree. Daz Studio to Bryce only opens Bryce with a blank page. However, Daz to Hexagon works ok. Not known if a Hexagon to Bryce transfer is possible, it's not available on my system. Only way I can transfer Dazto Bryce is by exporting in obj format, then importing the file from Bryce.

Found out from DAZ that the bridge between DAZ|Studio4.8 and Bryce 7.1 is broken.  They are working on it.

Best thing to do it to export from Studio in a OBJ format, using the Bryce setting. You might want to tweak the setting a bit and save as a new setting.  I have the size setting set to 100 %. Then exported to a folder to be used in Bryce. This is just a temporary work around til they get it fixed.  Don't tell anybody... ;)

Thanks guys ... I see some of you noticed I did the same thread over at DAZ, (he he) and the object technique is ... very time consuming as I have to re-assign textures to each and every part of the object.  (Granted, back in the Bryce/Poser 3 and 4 versions that was the standard ... but it's a lot more complicated now ... of course file set-up could be at fault here as I read further).

I'll continue my new exploration ... my "renewed" copy of "Real World Bryce 4" arrives later this week. (found my old copy destroyed by mold late last week).  Onward and forward we go .... trudge, happily ... trudge.

Instead of running DAZ Studio first and then sending something to Bryce, run Bryce FIRST, then send something (like a cube) to DAZ Studio so the bridge is started in the opposite direction.

NOW send something from DAZ Studio back to Bryce.
