Was trying the other day to import a dae file into 3ds max 2009 using it's built in dae import/export plugin. I got 3 errors:

unable to parse xml/dae file
structure instance node unknown
library type not supported library_nodes

Um now is there a working collada (dae) import/export plugin for 3ds max 2009 that really works.

The dae file I tried to import was from http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=e2d650d6572321281ab9df4be75138d0&prevstart=72

that won't work. You have to obtain colladamax which is a plugin; then there will be a DIFFERENT import selection for .dae files.

I was "into" this about 3 months ago and got these two files; can't recall of find the links....
